Service Terms and Conditions

1. Business Information:

Declutter With Delight is a professional decluttering and organising business that assists individuals in removing excess and organising spaces in their homes or workplaces. These services include, but are not limited to: assessing a client’s organisational needs; sorting, categorising, and decluttering items; providing recommendations for storage solutions; creating and implementing organisational systems; offering guidance on maintaining an organised space.

Declutter With Delight is registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) and is fully DBS checked.

2. Confidentiality and privacy:

Declutter With Delight provides a professional and confidential service; we will never divulge client details to third parties. If, during the course of our work, we are privy to confidential information this information will not be shared with third parties. The only way in which your situation may be mentioned to others is in the context of our own services, and then it will be depersonalised and unidentifiable (e.g. “a previous client”). It is sometimes helpful to be able to give examples to other clients of how a particular situation may be addressed, for example; the type of storage solutions used, the amount of time taken to organise the room.

3. Fees and Payment Terms:

3.1 Fees:

For a weekday booking between 09:00-17:30, fees are charged at £40 per hour. There is an additional surcharge made for evenings and weekends (an extra £10 an hour).

Decluttering and organising sessions are for a minimum of 4 hours. Whenever possible, we highly recommend planning for at least 6-8 hours to allow for greater progress to be made. Whilst a booking is based on a pre-agreed estimated period of time, it is not always possible to predict exactly how long a specific assignment will take. It may be necessary to book additional hours in order to finish a job and this will be agreed between you and the Organiser as and when required.

3.2 Additional Expenses:

Accommodation: If multiple consecutive days of work are required and the location is more than 45 miles from our base (OX12), accommodation will be required for our organiser to prevent several daily hours of travelling.

This will be added to your bill, but will be limited to a maximum of £100 per night (the cheapest available rooms will be sourced, and no bookings confirmed without your awareness).

Storage: An additional storage sourcing/handling fee (variable, depending on the amount of storage required and the time taken to source it) is applicable if you wish for Declutter With Delight to source and purchase any required storage for your session. Any items would be agreed by the client prior to purchase, and the storage plus sourcing fee will be added to your final bill.

Travel: Travel is free within the following postcodes: OX11 OX12, OX13 & OX14. There may be an additional mileage charge for work carried out beyond these areas at a rate of 45p per mile. Any parking fees incurred will be invoiced to you in your final bill – please notify us of any parking requirements when booking.

3.3 Payment Terms:

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking - a deposit invoice will be sent to you once you have signed these terms and conditions. This deposit will be deducted from your final bill which is due in full at the end of your session.  Your final invoice will be sent on the evening of your session, with payment due within 7 days. If a 24 hour package is booked, payment is required in full at the time of booking the initial session.

For your convenience, Declutter With Delight accepts bank transfers (see deposit invoice for payment details) and a payment link will be available during the day of your booking, with a remittance sent once payment is received.

3.4 Cancellation:

Both you and Declutter With Delight have the right to cancel the agreement due to unforeseen circumstances. Please do not email to cancel as this may not be picked up. Instead please call or text Annie on 07466451950.

Cancellations within 72 hours of an appointment will be charged at 50% of the fee (paid as your deposit) and cancellations within 48 hours of an appointment will be charged at 100%. Travel charges or further expenses paid in advance, which we cannot obtain refunds for, are not refundable in any circumstances and will be invoiced to you at the time of cancellation. In the event of a cancellation, we shall always try to rearrange your session as quickly as is mutually practical. There will be no fee to reschedule with more than 72 hours notice.

If Declutter With Delight cancels we will give you as much notice as possible and will reschedule at your convenience. If a suitable alternative date cannot be arranged, we will refund any monies paid. If we arrive at your house or office on the day of the booked session and you are not there, the session will be forfeit and the full amount will be due.

4. Liabilities:

4.1 Best Advice:

Advice is given in good faith and without pressure. It is always your decision whether to keep or dispose of specific possessions and whether to organise the house as suggested.

Declutter With Delight can therefore accept no responsibility for the actions you take on the basis of that advice be that, at the time of consultation, engagement in the organising or decluttering process, or at any subsequent or future date following any engagement or organiser consultation. Declutter With Delight is not a valuer of art or other items of special value or rarity; you are advised to seek your own valuations of such items.

4.2 Insurance:

Declutter With Delight holds full Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance cover for services as a Professional Organiser/Decluttering Practitioner with Westminster Insurance. Declutter With Delight will always handle your possessions with great care, but unfortunately accidents do sometimes occur. Declutter With Delight shall not be held liable for damage or losses, however caused, during our work with you and request that you have current insurance policies to compensate you adequately.

4.3 Limits of work:

Declutter With Delight will work with you to help you achieve the state of organisation and tidiness discussed during the initial consultation. The decluttering process may involve moving things around and some light cleaning, which we are happy to assist with. We are unable to help with moving heavy items of furniture/appliances for Health and Safety reasons. If this is required, please consider arranging a willing volunteer. When confirming your booking, you agree to disclose any information about the assignment or working environment that might put the Provider at risk of harm or damage to health. If access to your home or premises is restricted or unsafe, we reserve the right to charge for lost time and expenses incurred.

4.4 Personal Safety and Respect:

Declutter With Delight appreciates that strong feelings can arise during sessions, however to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all involved, any form of physical or verbal abuse are unacceptable. In the event that such behaviour occurs, the session may be terminated and any funds paid, including those for current and future sessions, may be forfeited. For the purpose of the Provider’s personal safety, another person will always know our location and session timings.

4.5 Pets:

Please let us know if there will be a dog or any other free roaming animals at the premises during our session. It shall always remain your responsibility to ensure that pets are not able to leave the premises, for example whilst storage is being unloaded or items removed from the home.

4.6 Removal of items:

Declutter With Delight works with you with your own belongings. Any items not belonging to you can only be decluttered with the express permission of the person concerned. Items to be removed from your premises, either for disposal or to other locations must be at your own discretion. You accept responsibility for all or any items disposed of as a result of carrying out the Services, and recognise that items cannot be returned after they have been removed.

4.7 Waiver of liability:

You, the client, will sign the waiver of liability (included at the end of this document), releasing Declutter With Delight from liability for any damage or injuries that may occur during the organising process.

5. Photographs:

Photographs and videos may be taken at various stages of the session to demonstrate how much you have achieved. A photo release form is included at the end of these Terms and Conditions; please complete this and return it to us, stating whether you are willing to give permission for these images to be used in our marketing and social media posts. Please note that these will never contain personal, identifying details and will only be used with your express permission.

6. Session Information:

6.1 Breaks:

During sessions, it is important to take breaks to rehydrate and pace yourself. These short breaks are included in the session time. Half an hour will be taken for lunch; this is not billed for.

6.2 Food and drink:

You are not required to provide food or drink (aside from drinking water) for the Organiser.
